With the Championship season at an end for Newcastle United, coming to a close for the rest of the league and the Premiership finale this afternoon, Newcastle fans and players have been looking ahead at their place next season and Kevin Nolan has vowed that there will be more winning in the Premier League.

The 27 year old told The Chronicle;

"Hopefully, the best is still to come from us.

We're all really looking forward to playing in the Premier League and nobody is daunted by it - quite the opposite in fact.

The players here earned the right to get back there and now we feel there is more to come.

In front of our own fans we have to be confident, and we'll be looking to protect that fantastic unbeaten run at home because we were so strong there last season.

There's every reason to feel optimistic and it is up to us to show we truly belong here."

He added;

"The lads and the staff here are fantastic to be around every day, and we just want to do the best for this club.

It's a pleasure to come into training and the players now have such a great bond.

We're a close group and everybody works hard for each other.

That will continue next season. I've had some fantastic years and some fantastic times in my career.

I've been in a final, and I went up with Bolton in my first season.

But to go up the way we have done is fantastic, and I'm absolutely delighted for the fans. Hopefully we can now go away and enjoy the seven weeks or so we've got off."
