Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has taken recognised fitness coach Michael Pellegrino to Los Angeles and set up a training camp in a bid to increase his fitness for the Premier League. After Chris Hughton confirmed Taylor will be with Newcastle for pre season training, he packed his bags, jetted off to the sun and is preparing to be a major player for the club next season.
The 24 year old who was forced to watch half of last season from the sidelines after picking up a knee injury and then allegedly a victim of assault by his team mate, will be encouraged to hear Hughton expects him back for pre-season after missing out on the last day of the season despite declaring himself fit.
Hughton told The Chronicle;
"Steven's a big player for us, he's been here a lot of years and knows what the club is all about.
He'll be back with us at the start of pre-season.
And it will be like a fresh start for him after a long period of no football."
