It was the best of seasons; it was the worst of seasons

It was a season where we were unbeaten at home, which if my memory serves correctly was the first time since the pharaoh, cruelly called Moses off side while he was wor number nine It was a season of treble figures (and no not just the fat bastard that takes his top off every away game); it was a season of very few bad headlines, (the odd fight excepted).

For this and the fact we are champions makes it the best of seasons.

However, should we have been there in the first place? If not (and in my rather less than humble opinion we should have been most definitely not) it was the worst of seasons.

West Brom fans started talking to me like they were my equal, and saying something (I am not sure what they talk so slowly I tune out), our derby was the smoggiest (I actually typed smoggies at this point, but the spell check changed it to smoggiest and I thought well god damn me its right, so it is) and they have a ginger manager.

It took me until about April to stop looking where we were in the premiership.

I kept seeing Hull and thinking pah the standard of journalism is slipping by the minute, Newcastle has far more letters that four. Then It would come back to me, like a bad dream, I would wake up covered in moisture and not even the good type and realise, that yes we really were that bad last season.

So all in all we are back where we belong, please Ashley (and have I mentioned lately how slim and attractive you have been looking of late?) don't let it happen again.
