Weiss Waiting Until After World Cup To Contemplate Move

Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City's Vladimir Weiss on a year long loan, but his agent has confirmed that any talk of a move will have to wait until after the World Cup.

The Slovakian winger who has impressed so far in South Africa, despite his team's 2-0 defeat against Paraguay yesterday is allegedly interested in the move, though his agent Juraj Venglos said;

"On Newcastle, I only know what has been reported. We haven't heard anything, and things will only be decided after the World Cup. I don't know anything until then.

But Vladimir just wants to play football - and of course he wants to play at a big club.

He must make the decision himself, though, and that will only come after the World Cup. We will see."

20 year old Weiss is a product of the Manchester City youth academy and follows in the shadow of his father, also Vladimir Weiss, who is currently managing the National team and his grandfather who also played in the National side. He was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers last season and is currently a target for Bolton as a long term prospect, Hull City and German side Cologne.

He didn't really make it at Bolton, what I remember he went there the same time as the Arsenal lad.

He would be a squad players but thats it. Obertan from Man U has linked to go out on loan and he would be somebody that I would be interested in

Yeah, but he's 20 so he hasn't hit his prime really. Obertan's a good shout, but I think we'd be more likely to land Weiss in a permanent move if he does well.

Good shout both of you. Suppose Obertan is going to learn very little if he goes on loan to Scotland or back to France.

Scotland or France would be a massive mistake. Alex would rather loan us Obertan, as he would be getting premiership experience in front of big crowds.

Haven't seen much of the lad, he's still young - looking forward to the match the day with Italia.

Didn't read the board earlier (mong ;-) )

Obertan would be a good signing in on loan, didn't play much last season but from what I saw he's quick and has a few tricks up his sleeve.
