Toon Bid For Sporting's Djalo Rejected

Newcastle United have reportedly had a bid for Yannick Djalo rejected by Sporting Lisbon for being too low, yet the Portuguese club have confirmed they would consider a sale for the right price. Sporting club president Jose Eduardo Bettencourt has publically admitted that the club need to sell players to meet their debts and earlier this month it was reported Djalo was available for £5million.
However, in this case Newcastle United are competing against Spurs who have also had a bid rejected & Everton who have shown an interest.
The 24 year old's club record isn't overly impressive with just eight goals in 5 seasons and no regular starting place, yet when he has played he has played well, scoring a hatrick in April to secure 4th place in the league.
