Tavernier, Inman and Lua Lua starting is interesting, the club did talk about using players promoted from the academy more this season.

It's interesting to see Inman and Lualua starting and no Xisco on the bench. Let's hope everyone comes through this game with no injuries.

The other Lua Lua's been causing a bit of a stir this week:
'Hundreds of frenzied soccer fans laid siege to Larnaca airport Sunday night, where they gathered to greet the arrival of Omonia football club's new signings.
Chanting slogans and jumping up and down, the supporters - at least a thousand - lit torches and Bengali lights as authorities seemed at a loss to deal with the crowd.
The smoke from the flames triggered the terminal's fire alarm system, automatically shutting down elevators and rolling staircases. With fans virtually taking over the lower deck of the airport, arriving passengers and their waiting friends became trapped inside a cauldron of football craze.
Frightened children started crying, and tensions flared as concerned parents pushed and shoved in a vain attempt to get out of the jam-packed hall.
Police eventually got a grip on the situation by convincing fans to relocate to the VIP lounge where they could greet Omonia's new star, Congolese striker Lomana Tresor Lua Lua.'

Carlisle just hit the post. Tavernier got a touch on it to deflect it onto the post. Lualua seems to be wasting possession often as well. Still 0-0 with ten minutes to half time.

Here's our second half line up:
Krul, R.Taylor, Ferguson, Perch, S.Taylor, Barton, Guthrie, Best, Routledge, Ranger Vuckic.
I'm keen to hear how Vuckic does in this game. Perch has started well.

Vuckic has just scored a delightful goal. So its 3-0 and one of the youngsters has put up his hand. A good start thus far.

Just seen the goals. Both well taken and good play from Routledge. That kid is sh.it off a stick. I really hope he has a good season. I just have the feeling that he is bang up for it and knows that this could be his last chance at the top level. Like a few other players I suppose.
Rangers was a cheeky little flick, very good.

Thanks Biffins. Will be checking Skysports. Steven Taylor has gone off with what is said to be a wrist injury. Let's hope its just precautionary.

I went as, well I'm sad.
It was a good showing, not going to tell us much mind.
Vukic looks promising, but you have to remember the oposition.
All in all I have had worse Saturday afternoon's and as the alternative was shopping with wife and daughter I can't help but feel I got a good deal.

Seeing a game of football or spending it in the shops, it is a tough call but I think I would choose football
Good result for the toon and hopefully as the games go on it will be good for Vukic to get a full game against a harder team to see how he can do

I know there's an issue with the competition in this friendly, but Routledge looks like he's ready to get into the season.

Yeah I was listening to the commentary for this game and the guys spoke highly about Routledge. I know its early to speak about the impact his had, but he seems to be really determined to succeed at the highest level and he'll be a key player for us this season.

Homeboy's got a point to prove. "Not top flight quality" has been hung around his neck for a while now. We'll see...

I think he is going to have a big season, one of the things that defenders are going to frightened about is his pace. I always rated the lad, but when he went to the top flight last time he had a lot of competetion and needed time.
Due to the depth of our team he will get that and I think he will repay us

His pace is great, but it always was. He needs to be able to play that decisive final ball even more quickly than in the ccc last season, because we aren't going to generate as many chances for him to do it.

Maybe not, but the pace will add something to the team which we lacked the season that we went down. Maybe the lad might not be the best passer of the ball but either is Lennon but he still dangerous as defender will think twice about flying forward on the off chance that we can break quick.
I think the team doesn't look to bad and I think we will shock a few. Not talking top 10 but not far off there. If we keep the players that we have and only get rid of players that are not needed, and maybe add a couple we should be fine
Jonas and Routeledge have added some width to the team and with Guthrie in the middle we should be fine
