90% Wanted Hughton To Stay As Manager
By Tyne-Talk
July 30 2010
Back in April at the end of the Championship season Tyne-Talk launched the poll "Do you want to keep Hughton as manager for the 2010/2011 season?" Over the close season 335 readers participated and the results are in. 90% of readers said "yes" they wanted Hughton to remain club manager as Newcastle United head back into the Premier League.
Just 8% disagreed perhaps taken by the media influence at the time, which suggested that Hughton may lack experience in a top flight setting, whilst 2% were unsure about their answer.

Only 90%?
Short of getting someone, way out of our league atm, who do people want?
Jesus, whats the bloke got to do?
What the hell do the other 10% want?

I'm going to blame the 8% on those Rats supporters, voting just to throw in a monkey wrench...

ttid, 90pc is stupid?!
the question was stupid, the time frame was , the result was a landslide, the overall usefulness of the poll was nil
and anyone who disagrees with what actually happened in real life is an idiot, yeah? what about (i didnt vote in this) someone who just kinda hoped for someone else and said so with their vote, they are stupid too, yeah? doubleplusgood for mr hughton!
gah.

For those who have not bought into hughton, imagine if shearer was our manager and did the same job everyone would be talking about the bright future the club has, ill say it yet again give chris a chance

Fully agree and not a dig at Shearer, Hughton couldn't have done more working under these conditions, but then there are always fans that are never happy and want to live in the good old days, not many though.
Those days are gone, of having big money signings and having managers who had a good playing career but not good enough to make it as a manager.
I think Hughton is capable of creating something special at the club, and I am not getting carried away, like we are going to win the premiership in a few years time. But I mean that we are signing players who want to give there all for the club, having talent come through and maybe play the ball around. I can see us getting some decent league finishes and get european football. Not this season though
I hope he gets time and as we need to stick with somebody instead of changing every season and to me he is the right guy

All 'murkans are equally unlettered, though some of us are more equally unlettered than others.
