I was born in Newcastle (Princess Mary's Jesmond for those that care) first 14 years of my life west end (John Marley) I then moved to Italy (long story) since then I have always decided to not write on Newcastle unless I am in the country.


I write on Verona, at home and Newcastle when back in the North. So I am going to change the habit of a lifetime now.

Chris, I am a life long Toon fan and all I can do is say how sorry I am that our fat cockney owner has decided to sack you.

For my money, you are the best manager we have had sine Bobby, and even the Italian press feel your hard done by.

Now it brings me to what is next Shearer?

God forbid he was a wonderful player, but never a manager (we suffered through those 8 games). I am taken the assumption that Real Madrid’s manager is not leaving them and rushing himself to Newcastle.

What are we doing?

All I can think is imagine I won 500 million on the lottery, and bought Sunderland and ran them into the ground, perhaps this is what Ashley is doing.

I fully agree he was the best manager we have had since Sir Bob, and thought we were on the verge of creating something special, yes it was going to take time, but then we are newly promoted side.

I wish him all the best, and he changed my views. What a bloke and what a manager. Good luck for the future and I reckon he will come back to haunt us.
