Newcastle United travel to Birmingham City for tomorrows 3pm kick off in 8th place, after an excellent 3-1 win over Liverpool last weekend. City, however host on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Birmingham have won two, drawn three and lost one of their last six games, whilst Newcastle have won one, drawn two and lost three of their last six games.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew will welcome back Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson, both return from 3 match bans, however both Shola Ameobi (hamstring) and Sol Campbell (illness) could miss out.

Steve Harper, who was on the bench for the Liverpool game is pushing for a start ahead of Tim Krul, but Hatem Ben Arfa (broken leg), Dan Gosling (knee) and Ryan Taylor (ankle) all miss out through injury.

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has had to contend with flu hitting the squad this week, but Liam Ridgewell and Mark Jiranek who were both affected should be fit to start. The side are without Alex Hleb (hamstring) and James McFadden (knee).

Mike Jones referees.

Fact: Birmingham have just 3 wins this season and 4 in their last 27 league games!

Fact: Newcastle have only lost once in 10 league games against Birmingham a defeat which did not occur at St Andrews.

Fact: Birmingham are the only team this season who have failed, in two different games, to have a shot on target.

Would be a great result if we could get a win today. Birmingham have not been playing well of late. But these are the sort of game we have a track record of losing with a whimper.

First real litmus test for Pardew to see if he can get a better away performance out of the lads in this sort of game than we have seen in the past.

I'm not holding my breath. I'll be happy with 1-1.
