Shola Ameobi has been ruled out of this afternoon's game against Aston Villa with a knee injury, which gives Nile Ranger the first Premier League start of this career. Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is without Nolan, Perch and Tiote who all serve match bans, but Jose Enrique starts after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Looks like Colocinni will be playing Tiote's role; Guthrie, Nolan's. Interesting choice, wouldn't be surprised if Richardson sees some pitch time today, especially if we get a lead and Pardew drops to 4-5-1.

Ameobi hurt again. The lad scores a goal and gets crocked again.
