Alan Pardew has told the Official website that his side turned up at Stamford Bridge with a positive attitude and deserved the point they got from the 2-2 draw, despite the host of injuries which limited his choice in starting eleven. He told nufc.co.uk;
"We had a really positive approach to the game. We knew our fans paid good money at Liverpool and got let down there, but today we threatened Chelsea.
We got in behind them more than we did at Liverpool and had so many chances for an away team. We would have been really disappointed not to get a result.
The most important thing at the end of the season is to have a positive outlook on games. There were a lot of young players in the team but they were prepared to try and win the game and thats what we want to do at Newcastle - win games at tough, tough places like this."
Referring to Kazenga LuaLua and Sammy Ameobi's performances on the pitch, he added;
"I thought they approached the game really, really well and both of them contributed. They haven't had a lot of football, Kazenga in particular - so I was very, very pleased."
