Ranger On His Way Out

Nile Ranger could be on his way out of Newcastle United after just 1 goal and 1 assist in 24 appearances for the club last season. The 20 year old, who has scored 6 goals in 11 appearances for the England under 19's side picked up a new 5 year deal just last season, but it is thought the club now believe he will be better off with a permanent move away from the club, rather than a season long loan deal.
Ranger made his debut for the senior team in August 2009 and his League debut in October 2010 but has consistently failed to find the back of the net.
Initial interest has been shown by both Bolton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers, though neither team have put in an offer at this stage. Newcastle are expected to listen to offers of over £1million for the striker.

He's got 'problems' and is raw but I think it's a mistake selling him. He could definately use some playing time in the Championship/League One, I think he might be a useful player in a few years time. I suspect it's one of his 'problems' that's behind this.

More trouble than he's worth.
A LOT more trouble, and likely to get worse not better.
He's too immature, and full of@#$%&to be worth persevering with. Let him take his gun and sod off to pastures new.
Although I reckon he's more likely to be sent somewhere in the Championship for a season. To West ham and have Big Sam try to straighten the juvenile idiot out.

I think we have a no d*ck head policy now at newcastle, where players with unprofessional attitude & behaviour are shown the door, guess thats partly why Carroll was flogged plus the huge fee of course, Barton the same, and now Ranger who obviously cant learn by his errors, he was sent here to get him away from the homies in London who were a bad influence on him in his part of armed street robbery, now he is seen with a replica gun! what a b3llend,

Wholeheartedly agree with mighty and phil. The guy is quite clearly a @#$%&. Would rather have players at our club who are decent guys.

He's got a future as a footballer, I think. I'd rather see him loaned for a season.

He must have really p155ed someone off for them to not entertain a loan deal. I would probably still prefer him to go on loan for a year but maybe they think if he f00ks that up then there is no chance of getting a fee for him.
If he was to be sold I think even a million is asking a bit much. Would rather get less/nothing and put in a big sell on clause should he actually make it in the future. Like the one we didnt do with Chopra!

Biffins has got it spot on, either loan the lad out or add on a massive sell on clause even it means we get rid of him for next to nothing

My first choice would be to loan the lad out to a championship team to get him expereince as I do think he could be a good player in a couple of years

As harsh as I've been on him, the only thing he didn't do last season was finish. I do believe he should be loaned to a lower-division team so he can learn to do that. He is a forward. I totally agree, I think the lad has potential, he is a grafter, strong on the ball and causes problems with his running and makes chances, if the lad had confidence in front of goal then he would be a good player. Get him loaned out for a season and see what he can do next year.
At stages this year we had a thread on him to play, and quite a few were up for it, now it seems that the club say he can go and everybody is saying f@ck him

its a decision obviously based on his attitude and not ability, loan him out and see if playing regularly makes him grow up a bit and sort out his bad attitude

It's his attitude off the pitch that concerns me - if he could get his head down and earn a call-up from the training sessions, he should stay.
