Injury Curse Strikes In Pre-season

Newcastle United have been hit with injuries, even before the season has started. The 1st game in pre-season saw both Danny Guthrie (groin) and Shane Ferguson (leg) substituted off within the first half. Both will miss the tour to America, instead receiving treatment to ensure they make the beginning of the season.

Manager Alan Pardew said of the injuries;

“That’s further bad news for us because they both don’t look good.

One’s gone for an X-ray – Fergie – and the other, Danny, has picked up an injury that we think he’s had before.

That could be him out for between six to eight weeks.”

Fergie was injured by Forster's reluctance to come out and claim a cross. He hesitated, then went for it and landed on Ferguson.
