Injury Update Ahead Of Spurs Game

Newcastle United's John Carver has confirmed that Alan Pardew is expecting to have an [almost] fully fit squad to choose from ahead of next Sunday's game against Tottenham.  Both Shola and Sammy Ameobi are recovering from injury, with Shola having resumed full training after a shoulder injury and Sammy recovering from a hamstring problem, whilst Mike Williamson remains sidelined but is on his way back.

Carver said;

"It’s quite a clean bill of health and you’re now at the stage where it’s just  fingers crossed with the international games. Hopefully they come through those  games.

Shola’s had a good week with the fitness guys. We could have thrown him back  into training but we thought it’d be better to give him a good base.

He’s had a solid week. He’ll be back with the group on Monday for the build  up to Spurs.

Mike Williamson is coming along quite nicely. He seems happy with himself, he’s  doing a lot of hard work.”

Pardew will be concerned about Yohan Cabaye who picked up an ankle injury in last night's France v Albania game, but hopefully the knock wasn't serious and he will be in contention for the clubs next Premier League match.

Hatem Ben Arfa, who is visiting relatives in Tunisia is also expected back ahead of the game.

Glad Cabaye came through after the initial scare. Very pleased Williamson is nearly back as we are so thin at the back.

Apparently both RVDV and Adebayor are doubts for them, which is good news.

I'm hoping Tiote would be as effective at nullifying VDV as he was at our place in January, anyway. Guy spent the whole game @#$%& at the ref.

Oh, good to hear Shola's had a good week with the fitness guys. F00k yeah!1
