Match Preview/Stats/Thread: Newcastle Utd v Spurs

Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow afternoon on the back of four wins and two draws in the last six games of all competitions, whilst Spurs also travel on the back of four wins and two draws from their last six.
Throughout the International break, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was left holding his breath as Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba both picked up injuries whilst playing for their respective countries and Hatem Ben Arfa went to Tunisia to visit family, however all have returned fully fit and raring to go.
Shola Amoebi (shoulder) is not expected to feature, whereas his brother Sammy who was expected to return from a hamstring injury is a doubt, as is Danny Guthrie (groin). Mike Williamson (broken arm), Haris Vuckic (hand) and Alan Smith (hamstring) are all long term absentees.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has a host of injuries with Sandro (calf) and Aaron Lennon (groin) both doubts going into the game, whilst Niko Kranjcar (torn thigh), Vedran Corluka (foot), William Gallas (calf), Michael Dawson (achilles) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) are all absent.
Rafael van der Vaart (hamstring) should be fit, but Adebayor will have to pass a late fitness test after a hamstring injury.
Fact: Spurs have taken just 1 point from Newcastle in the last 5 League games at St James’ Park.
Fact: Newcastle are unbeaten in 10 consecutive League games.

Things have gone VERY poorly for all of the other sports teams I support this weekend. It is now up to our beloved Toon to make it all better!

I great result against a team who will be in europe again next year..
Have a good feeling even if we are behind late in games.. Feel we could have gotten all 3 points, but before the game, I would have been happy with 1, so I'll take it..

I thought we had 2 good penalty shouts turned down, the 1st was a push by bassong on best. and trhe 2ns the handball at the end. Good result in the end, Spurs were left hanging on imo. Simpson should be dropped next game and probably obertan too for HBA and Santon.

The handball at the end was as much a penalty as Taylor's. Oh well. If Colo had finished from the FK it's academic.
Great performance from the lads. All the punditry agreed this was our first real test (though note the mackems couldn't hold Arsenal to a draw). They should agree we're for real now.
We looked so good after HBA came on-this is clearly the way forward. It's just easier to get the ball into dangerous area with that player between the midfield and forward.

Great substitutions by Pardew, who'd have thought it Shola as an impact sub!

I thought we played well and deserved at least a draw from the game, which is what we got at the end. We never created enough chances in the first half despite our dominance and had we done better we'd probably have won the game. I thought the substitions were excellent and each player brought something different. I would really like to see Santon start the next game with Ben Arfa also starting alongside Ba. For now, I'm delighted with our league position and having the unbeaten tag next to our name!

Over the moon again with this one. Would have taken the point before hand but the performance, especially in the second half was really top draw.
Tiote was immense and I thought Jonas was very good. Shame cabaye and Taylor let themselves down a bit for there first goal but apart from that they were very good.
