Colo Injury Concern Ahead Of Utd Game

Newcastle United's Fabricio Coloccini could be rested for today's game after the defender suffered with back spasms ahead of the match. Resting him would throw Alan Pardew's match plan into chaos, as the defence has been the most consistent the club have had in years. Pardew has called up 21 year old Tamas Kadar to replace the experienced Argentine International should he need to.
Captain Coloccini has been promised the armband for the next four years if he signs a new five year deal with the club. Both he and team-mate Danny Simpson have been offered extended deals, but neither have signed yet. Pardew has praised Coloccini this week and made it clear he features heavily in his future plans.
Pardew said;
“I admire him as much as a person as a player and (there are) not many players I would say that about. He’s a really fantastic person and a fantastic captain. He’s the perfect character to be captain of this club and I hope we get his new contract signed.
If he does, I know he will be here as captain for the next three or four years because he is very influential in the everything I want to do. He represents everything I like. He was the number one choice.
There wasn’t really a number two in the running – he was always going to be the captain unless he suffered an injury."

I just hope the club keep us more informed about his condition than Tiote's.
Interesting to see Kadar recalled. If Colo can't play he should get a look.
