Club Confirm Taylor's Season Is Over

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has had his worst fears confirmed after walking off the pitch against Chelsea yesterday and will now face surgery on his Achilles. The club have confirmed he will undergo a final assessment tomorrow before the operation, followed by rehabilitation.

A statement released on the club website read;

"Steven Taylor sustained an Achilles injury yesterday at the end of our game with Chelsea. After medical assessment he will be having surgery tomorrow and it is likely he will be out for the rest of the season."

Alan Pardew's defence has now fallen apart at the seams, with Fabricio Coloccini also picking up an injury yesterday. He is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks.

With Williamson already out for a few more weeks, and god knows how long Colo will be out, we could be in trouble, Perch isnt the answer. FFS

We're going to have to play Perch and Kadar.

And the player who I think could best play out of position there-Tiote-is already out.

On the looks of it, Guthrie is out, so Smudge is even closer to the team, him and Perch FFS

Bloody hell play the kids, Vuckic and Ferguson should be available so why not give them a run out rather than the sort of cr@p that are off the premiership pace, maybe stick Jonas in the middle as he is a grafter
