Suarez Banned For Newcastle Game

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will miss Friday's game against Newcastle United at Anfield after being punished with a one match ban and £20,000 fine for showing Fulham fans the finger at Craven Cottage on 5th December. Suarez pleaded guilty to improper conduct and the club will also have to pay a £20,000 fine for the teams conduct after they surrounded the referee during a seperate incident where Jay Spearing was sent off.

Suarez will serve his first match ban in the Premier League, but is not a stranger to the stands. When playing for Ajax, prior to his move to Liverpool, the Uraguay International was hit with a 7 match ban after biting an opponant in Holland.

It is the 2nd FA punishment for Suarez over the last few weeks after he was charged by the FA after allegedly using a racist term towards Patrice Evra earlier on this season. Liverpool plan to appeal the 8 match ban he picked up and as a result it is yet to come into effect.

I mainly know this little man from three incidents:

1. Intentional handball on the line that keeps Ghana out of the WC semis.

2. Racial abuse of Patrice Evra.

3. Flipping the bird at Fulham supporters. (Because they called him a cheat, which he is-see #1.)

Stay classy, Luis.

Great news for us and the bloke is just a horrible ba57ard.

I know this sets up Carroll to come in and kick us where it hurts but he is nowhere near as good as Suarez.

Don't forget the incident that got him the nickname "The Cannibal of Ajax" in Holland.

But in his defence - I'm sure that sticking the middle finger up is not considered offensive in Uruguay...

I don't know. I'm not too excited over it. Kuyt's been their Magpie killer...he's got 6 goals in 8 starts against us. I'm also worried about our old boys (Carroll and Bellamy) doing their thing against us.

I'm hoping for the sort of listless performance from them that they put in against Blackburn. That and a couple more from Ba!

Liverpool have enough force on the day to destroy most teams, but missing Suarez will be a big loss to them, but Carroll could come back to haunt us especially as there is talk of Gerrard playing so it will suit his style of play

Yep, I'm guessing Gerrard will start right off Carroll. Hopefully Tiote will lock him down.
