Newcastle & Sunderland Fined By FA - Toon Fine Doubled

Newcastle United & Sunderland FC have both been fined by the FA for scrapping on and off the pitch during the Tyne-Wear derby on the 4th March 2012. Both clubs were charged with a "failure to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour." They both accepted the charge and now Newcastle have been fined £40,000 whilst Sunderland have received a fine of half the price at £20,000.

The FA have doubled Newcastle United's fine as it is the 2nd misconduct charge the club have had this season.

The first charge was back in August 2011, on the first day of the season when Newcastle Utd and Arsenal were both charged for failing to control their players.
