Newcastle United Finish 5th & Head For Europe

By Tyne-Talk

Premier League Manager of the season Alan Pardew has led his side to 5th in the Barcleys Premier League, despite a disappointing end to the season. Newcastle, who headed out last weekend on a walk around pitch to thank the fans for their support, haven't left the top seven this season and are well deserving of their final place.

Fifth place means that despite missing out on a Champions League place and the top four, the club will be in Europe next season, for the first time in a long time and have exceeded most people's expectations.

Alan Pardew, Newcastle United manager

It is a great achievement to finish so high, and above the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool who spending power is far greater than ours.

Well done to the Toon and AP

I dislike Chelsea greatly; however, I despise Spurs far more. I wouldn't mind seeing Chelsea knock 'Arry off his pedestal.

I dislike Chelsea and there loathsome captain, but they are representing Britain and I'll be cheering them on the night.

but they are british

I assume you weren't involved in the slagging of all things Scottish that happened here not so long ago on a thread about Rangers....

Still can't bring myself to support the pensioners. Bayern uber alles!

I would rather Chelsea have champions league football next year rather than Spurs, for Newcastle sake. As Imagine we can keep all the players add a couple and challenge again next year, then Spurs in the Europa is far better for us.

Chelsea will spend big regardless so they will be up there next season, where if Spurs miss out again you can see players leaving like Modric and doubt Levy will splash the cash on big name players. So if Spurs miss out then I can see them taking a little bit of a back step and trying to rebuild a squad again

i could and would quite happily slag the scottish off all day long but when it comes to them competing against a non british team then i will support them! except for Andy Murray i enjoy watching him get beat!

Yeah, well Americans from different regions hate each other when not in the presence of foreign nationals too. Par for the course.
