Rumour Has It....Spurs Line Up £7m Demba Bid

Rumour has is that Tottenham Hotspur are once again considering a £7M move for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba, which leads to questions as to how Harry Redknapp could have unsettled the Senegal International back in January when he "accidently" let slip the price of the release clause in an interview with the media.
Speculation was rife in January when Redknapp, who
was, at the time hotly tipped for the England job, openly discussed Demba Ba's situation on Tyneside; however Newcastle then confirmed the signing of Papiss Cisse, Ba's International strike partner and talk of a move quietened.
Ba who joined Newcastle just 12 months ago, and scored 16 goals for the club, linked up with Cisse to see Newcastle into Europe next season, the same League Spurs will be in, after they lost out on a Champions League place thanks to fellow Londoners Chelsea.
With little between the two sides in form last season, Ba will be forced to choose between starting again at a new club, under a new manager or staying at a club where he has been instantly successful with the fans, the manager and in his strike partnership with his international colleague.

I absolutly hate Harry he always taps players up left right and centre then goes off it as soon as anyone goes sniffing near his, he is a joke and only ever skints clubs. I bet Portsmouth, Southampton and even West Ham fans don't think too much of him.

Tottenham don't have champions league - despite finishing fourth. It doesn't matter if the clause ended yesterday or next February - Spurs couldn't trigger it.

Thought the clause was "£7m to a team in the Champions League"?

Everybody knows his knee is a "ticking time bomb" who knows when its going to go bang!
We can apparently bring in Luuk de jong for the same amount as we would sell Ba for and he's a few years younger and could pass a medical!
On another note, my sources have told me the 7m clause is only to grant permission for a champions league club to talk to Ba its the same sort of clause that Neil Taylor had last summer and we all know how that ended!
I want BA to stay as 7 million isn't much, and at the same time I would like us to get another forward in as well especially with another ACN.
If it is true about this clause that he can speak to clubs but we can still say no, like the Swansea lad then I take it the club may either use this to get clubs interested then push up the price and look to flog or offer BA a new deal on more cash
It was hard to argue with Papiss in the centre for almost the entire of the latter half of last season because Cisse couldn't stop scoring, but how long can he keep it up?
Unless fans are confident in Shola and Best to deliver more reliably than Ba, I feel we'd be foolish to let Ba go so cheaply.
