5 NUFC Players Sign New Deals; 11 Shown The Door

Newcastle United FC have announced the departure of eleven players today with five other players being offered new contracts. Alan Smith, who has made 94 appearances for the club in 5 seasons, Danny Guthrie, who the club were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract with and Peter Lovenkrands who made 85 appearances and scored 26 goals have all been released by the club.
Joining them are Ryan Donaldson (midfielder), Phil Airey (forward), Samuel Adjei (forward), Stephen Folan (defender), Jeff Henderson (midfielder), Tamaz Kadar (defender), Greg McDermott (midfielder) and Patrick Nzuzi (defender).



New contracts have been offered to James Tavernier (defender), Bradden Inman (midfielder), Paul Dummett (defender), Michael Richardson (midfielder), Conor Newton (midfielder).

Its a shame about Kadar i always thought he was going to break into the first team at some point but obviously all those injuries have affected his development!
Can see Lovernkrands ending up in the championship or the Scottish league
Would rather have kept Guthrie, makes a really good third choice behind Cabaye and Tiote. His call though.
