Breaking News: NUFC Bid For Carroll Rejected

Liverpool FC are reported to have rejected a loan bid for striker Andy Carroll, from his former club Newcastle United.  Carroll who is not keen on a move away from Anfield, has suggested he would accept being put out on loan, but does not want a permanent move. However, with Carroll apparently failing to fit into manager Brendan Rodgers plans, speculation is rife that Liverpool are looking for a sale.

BBC Sport are reporting that the offer from Newcastle, made just a few hours ago, has been rejected on the grounds it doesn't meet Liverpools needs. However, no details of the exact offer on the table have been released.

The 23 year old is on wages of £80,000 a week at Anfield after signing for the club in January last year for £35million.

Both Newcastle and West Ham have shown an interest in the striker, but it is unlikely any team will cover the bulk of his wages.
