Pardew Sent Off

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been sent to the stands 59 minutes into the sides first Premier League game of the season. Pardew was shown by ESPN to push the 4th official just minutes after Ba scored to put Newcastle into the lead.

Pardew was aggrieved that Newcastle were not awarded a throw in after the ball appeared to have crossed the line.

Before leaving the touchline he requested an ear piece and radio handset to communicate with his colleagues, that failed and he is now using a runner to send instructions. 

Yohan Cabaye and Danny Simpson have both been booked for Newcastle, whilst Livermore and Sandro have been booked for Spurs.

In his post match interview, Pardew admitted that he had been reminding his players to behave and that on the day he had let himself down.

He will now await an FA decision as to whether any further action is taken against him.

You can't raise your hands to the officials so he got what he deserved.

He did but seriously it was nowt, and the decision was worng, the clip they showed on the TV was at a bad angel and also was frozen after the ball ahd fully went out in replays imo.

They are right to send him to the stands, as they need to send out the message to respect officials. I do think with him coming straight out and saying sorry, and generally a good record, then he will only get a fine

Even as a player you know that's a bright line: don't touch an official with any aggression.

Oh well, hopefully they'll have a better 2-way for the next couple matches.
