Carroll Signs For West Ham - Rodgers Must Be A Nutcase?

Newcastle United now have no chance of re-signing striker Andy Carroll, after Liverpool FC confirmed he has joined West Ham United on loan for the rest of the season. Carroll who has expressed no desire to leave Liverpool and even less desire to join West Ham has gone despite manager Brendan Rodgers specifically stating that Carroll would not be going anywhere on loan - "and certainly not Newcastle.
So it would seem, Mr Rodgers cannot be trusted with the whole truth, now Andy is packing his bags to London.
Rodgers initially said;
"There is absolutely no chance [of a loan deal] - and certainly not Newcastle.
I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January. I have got [Luis] Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll. I would need to be a nutcase to even consider at this moment to let Carroll go out, unless there are other solutions for that,"
The official Liverpool FC website issued the following simple statement;
"Liverpool Football Club can confirm that Andy Carroll has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan. The striker will spend the whole of 2012-13 with Sam Allardyce's team."
Newcastle United fans have been divided over whether or not they wanted Carroll back after watching the Papiss Cisse/Demba Ba partnership working so well last season. Whilst others have suggested that with Pardew's new side performing well and with many of Carroll's former team-mates having left the club, that his influence may be a hinderance rather than a help.
West Ham fans will now be left questioning how the club can afford Carroll after the club admitted initially that they would be blowing the coming season's budget on the striker if he signed. No details have been released as to what fee would be expected at the end of the season should both clubs agree he could sign a permanent deal.
Meanwhile Carroll, who will now once again link up with Kevin Nolan and Sam Allardyce has given his first interview to the official West Ham site. He said;
"It's great to be here at West Ham and all signed up - I just can't wait to get started now. I want to be playing games and obviously hoping to score some goals. I know the manager well and some of the lads, so it is nice for me to come to a place where I know people.
"I'm hoping to add a lot of goals and create a few chances. I know Sam from Newcastle and he was a massive reason for me coming. When I worked with him at Newcastle it was great so it was a no-brainer really."

He did sound like a spolit brat though when he said he especially wouldnt go back to newcastle.
I liked him at Swansea but Liverpool seem to put something upon their managers which make them extremely unlikable.
For Carroll this is a good move, as West Ham will play the style of football he wants and he get get plenty of goals
Personally don't think he is worth that amount per week
