Taylor Injury Confirmed As Serious Cruciate Damage

Newcastle United defender Ryan Taylor has been ruled out for a couple of months after the injury he sustained in last nights Europa League qualifying tie was confirmed as serious cruciate damage of the knee. Taylor went down in the 9th minute of the game after going for a challange and landing awkwardly, he immediately flagged for medical attention.
Questions have now been raised as to whether or not manager Alan Pardew will seek to sign a player to cover the role in Taylors absence but he has been quoted as rejecting the idea.
Pardew said;
"Sleeping on it, we have got good cover for Ryan with James Tavernier in particular and James Perch, who can play those roles, so we will probably go with what we have got now and in January, maybe look at it."
An official statement read;
"Ryan Taylor will be ruled out for several months after suffering a knee injury during Thursday's Europa League qualifier against Atromitos.
Everyone at club wishes the popular player well in his recovery from the injury."
