Simpson Off Injured - 3 Key Defenders In Treatment

Newcastle United have had to replace defender Danny Simpson in the 37th minute to this afternoons game against Aston Villa at St James' Park. The home side were 1-0 down thanks to a goal by Clark in the 21st minute, when Danny Simpson clashed with Stephen Ireland and went down holding his hamstring.

Manager Alan Pardew will be welcoming the forthcoming International break and hoping it will give two of his three injured defenders a chance to recover in time for their next game at Goodison park on Monday 17th September.

In the last four days Pardew has seen Ryan Taylor (ACL Knee), James Perch (neck) and now Danny Simpson (hamstring) all need to be replaced on the pitch.

Whilst Ryan Taylor has been ruled out for several months, hopefully Simpson's injury won't be too much of a concern and he and Perch can make a comeback in time to play against Everton.

We fail to sign a right back and our three main options there go and get injured within a week. Typical.

Just got home from the game and gotta say Anita was terrible in midfield lost the ball with sloppy passes way too much but improved vastly when he dropped into defence after Simpson went off but on a brighter note bigirama looked excellent like a mini tiote really hope he gets more time on the pitch in tioted absence

Anita has looked off the pace so far, but maybe he needs more time to settle, so I am not to worried about him at the moment, as lots of signing struggled when they came, Colo was bloody awful but now he is top class

I thought Bigirama looked ok when he played in Europe, and given time and playing alongside Tiote in training week in week out, then I think he will really improve and will eventually be a top player for us.
