Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic picked up a nasty knee injury on Monday evening in the reserves game against Aston Villa at Villa Park and the club are currently awaiting the results of the scan which he had yesterday. The 20 year old was stretchered off in the 87th minute with a protective brace on his leg and oxygen.
Pardew said of the injury;
"I think Haris knew straight away it was a serious injury – it was an emotional night. He’s had so many injuries, it was perhaps one too far for his own mind.
It was a very emotional night for us all – we’re upset for him. If our fans want to send him any messages, I think that would be appropriate, because he is hurt.”
Vuckic was stretchered off in the 87th minute with a protective brace on his leg and oxygen.
Dan Gosling, who also played in a bid to build his fitness levels, also sustained an ankle injury during the game.
