Vuckic's Season's Over

Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic, who was taken off on a stretcher during the reserves game on Monday night has been told he will not play again this season, after being diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament. The 20 year old who was beginning to feature in the first team has expressed his sadness at the injury but has said he will come back stronger.
Vuckic told Ekipa, a Slovenian newspaper;
"I immediately knew that something is very wrong and I suspected that it could be cruciate ligament and the medical examination proved that.
Now I have to wait for the swelling in the knee to go away. Than I will have surgery and four to six months of rest.
It is very difficult, especially mentally. But I know, that I will be okay, I know that doctors will take care of me, but it will require time and a lot of patience."
He continued;
"I'm very sad. I was very close to the first team, I was getting a chance in Europa League and after long time I felt really great. But injuries are part of sport and football.I could feel sorry for myself, that would be easier, but I won't. I'm not like that so I will do everything in my power to come back even stronger."
He joins Ryan Taylor who is out with a similar injury, also until the end of the season.

Vuckic is currently reminding me of a player who is still on our books. Looked to have a bright future before a serious injury (possibly even the same as Vuckic has?) and he doesn't seem the same player since he's joined us. Not writing Vuckic off here by any means but it just shows you what these type of injuries can do.
After all, remember how long Ben Arfa was out? He's turned out alright.
