Tim Krul and Davide Santon picked up the highest scores of the game against West Bromwich on Sunday, with goal keeper Krul being named Man of the Match by Tyne-Talk's player rater Wasim4nufc. Substitute Gabriel Obertan got the lowest rating for his part in the 2-1 win at St James Park. Read on to see how the rest of the team faired.....
Player Ratings
Tim Krul (8.5) - Made two terrific saves which kept us in the lead in the first half and showed what a high quality goal keeper he is with the performance.
Danny Simpson (6) - Thought he was below his usual standards. Made a few errors playing some players on side in the first half and was eventually taken off on the hour mark.
Mike Williamson (7) - Had a steady game although he was kept busy by the West Brom attackers for much of the afternoon.
Fabricio Coloccini (7.5) - Showed moments of his class but also had a few difficult moments handling Lukaku and Long.
Davide Santon (8) - Again looked solid in defense whether he was at right back or left back. Ventured forward nicely too although without really delivering a telling cross. Did have one cracking effort at goal in the first half too.
James Perch (7) - Had a decent game although West Brom were very good on the counter attack and our defense was left exposed a few times.
Yohan Cabaye (6.5) - We never really had control of the match the way we would have liked and that was in some ways due to Cabaye not having his best game. Does combine very well with Tiote so he may have missed his usual midfield partner in causing damage.
Jonas Gutierrez (7) - Had a busier game and put in some good crosses but feel the system does not get the best out of him as it means he is tucked in more and has to do more defensive duties.
Shola Ameobi (7) - Put in one delightful cross and set up our first goal however I still feel he is being wasted on the right plus Ben Arfa is much better when on the right. It is also more suited for away games to start with Ameobi on the right and he also did some poor things against West Brom.
Demba Ba (7) - Took his goal well and looks very sharp. Sometimes you feel he just needs more support as he is definitely capable of finding the back of the net. Went off with an injury, really hoping its not too serious.
Hatem Ben Arfa (6) - Did not affect the game the way we know he can and he gave the ball away on a few occasions as well. Is wasted on the left as one of his most dangerous weapons is the ability to cut in from the right flank. Did try to run at them in the first half with some success but was not involved too much in the second half.
Substitutes
Papiss Cisse (6.5) - Had a quiet time of it when he came on but will be happy he was at the right place at the right time for the winner.
Gabriel Obertan (5) - Gave the ball away a lot despite only being on the field a half an hour. Seemed to lack ideas as the pressure of us needing to attack the game built up.
Sammy Ameobi (7) - Took the shot which led to our winner and did better than our other two substitutes I'd say when he came on.

Though I'd have given Cabaye and Ben Arfa lower scores.
A shame for him really as getting the start ahead of cisse was a chance to claim the place as his own but he let himself down (although he wasn't the only one to have a bad day)
