Ranger Back In 1st Team Training

Newcastle United’s wayward striker Nile Ranger is back in training with the first team, despite numerous court appearances this year for his off field behaviour. Just last month Ranger was convicted of assaulting two police officers after a night out, back in September he was charged with Criminal Damage and in March of this year he was charged by the FA with sending homophobic tweets.
The assault dated back to August 2011 but was eventually heard at Newcastle Crown Court, where he was sentenced to a 12 month conditional discharge and to pay £750 to both officers.
However, due to depleting numbers, manager Alan Pardew is running short on options and has brought the 21 year old back into training.
Last season he was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley but he has been back at Newcastle this season after rejecting moves to Blackpool and the Sheffield Wednesday.
At the end of October he was disciplined by the club, with a final written warning, for repeatedly failing to turn up to training on time, and in a show of disrespect also failed to attend the disciplinary hearing on time.
Pardew said at the time;
“This guy is late so often, it is unbelievable.
He’s still at this football club and we’re still trying to do something with him.
But he will still not get back in the team unless he has a period of six weeks where he isn’t late. I don’t think it is going to happen.”
Ranger’s current contract isn’t due to expire until 30th June 2016.

He has;
In 2006 he was convicted of being involved in several armed muggings and got 11 months in a youth institution.
2011 he was arrested, charged (and last week convicted) of assaulting 2 police officers (Charges of GHB were dropped against a 3rd person).
March 2012 - he was fined by the FA for making homophobic tweets.
March 2012 - he was arrested for breaching bail.
September 2012 - he was arrested and charged with criminal damage. This was dropped but he was bound to keep the peace for 12 months.
So he has been found guilty of offences he has committed.
