Simpson Hits The Front Pages Rather Than The Back

Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson, is the latest Premier League footballer to hit the front pages of the weekend tabloids, rather than the back. Since Alan Pardew came into post the club have worked hard to reduce the number of money grabbing headlines surrounding the side, with previous coverage of Joey Barton and Andy Carroll, both of whom have now moved on.

Only Nile Ranger repeatedly appears having been in court for one thing or another, and even then the club have taken steps to distance themselves and the press aren't that interested.

Historically it has shown that when players make the front pages, there is a detrimental effect on their game. Today Newcastle face Swansea City at St James’ Park, and Simpson will play his first game back from a shoulder injury. With Fabricio Coloccini and James Perch both unavailable, this isn’t a game for Simpson to have an “off day”.

…..chances are if he is dating Tulisa as the papers say we could see several more front page stories over the coming weeks, which is unlikely to go down well with the management.
