Match Preview/Stats/Thread: Newcastle Utd v QPR

By Tyne-Talk
December 21 2012

Newcastle United host Queens Park Rangers tomorrow afternoon in a rare 3pm kick off at St James’ Park. They go into the game on the back of five defeats and one win from their last six games in all competitions, whilst QPR travel on the back of their first win of the season against Fulham.

Despite being 19th in the League, QPR have had a better string of results compared to Newcastle recently, having not lost a game since Harry Redknapp took over as manager, whilst Newcastle have lost six of their last seven games.

For Newcastle, injuries have been the main excuse for the lack of points; however recent performances have improved, whilst the results have stayed the same.

Manager Alan Pardew is without Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring), Dan Gosling (knee), Yohan Cabaye (groin), Ryan Taylor (knee), Haris Vuckic (knee) and Steven Taylor (hamstring), whilst James Perch (neck) is struggling to be fit.

Gabriel Obertan (toe) is expected to be available.

Harry Redknapp is without Julio Ceser (back) and Jose Bosingwa (back), Ji-Sung Park (knee),  Andrew Johnson (knee) and Bobby Zamora (hip). Kieron Dyer has also sustained a knock which will keep him sidelined.

Fact: Demba Ba has scored 6 goals in his last 7 Premier League appearances, scoring 11 of Newcastle’s 19 goals this season in total.

Fact: Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse have never both scored in a Premier League game that they have started together.

Fact: Cisse has scored in three of four Premier League games against Newcastle.

Really?

I don't think that would help us at all. Cash in the bank is useless unless they can afford a decent replacement and one is available

A win is a win and with the run of games we have coming up I'm not bothered how we did it.I did not see the game so will watch it on M.O.D.Really happy to get those 3 points.

I did, we deserved to win, but that says more about how bad they are rather than how good we are.

Anyway I don't care a win is a win.

Can't wait to see old candle face crying at the end of the season, QPR has to be the worst side I've seen in a while.
