Chelsea Drop Out Of Race For Ba As Wage Demands Increase

Last night Newcastle United striker Demba Ba’s representatives travelled to London for talks with Chelsea in a bid to secure a move to Stamford Bridge for the Senegal International. This morning’s papers are full of information suggesting the move is on and the striker will at the club by the end of the transfer window.
Whilst some reports suggest that the 27 year old is on his way to Chelsea for a scan, Sky Sports are reporting that talks last night were unproductive with Chelsea not prepared to pay what Ba is asking for.
Chelsea were prepared to double his money by offering £80,000 a week, but his agents are alleged to have pushed for more. Therefore unless he is prepared to budge on his wage demands the deal could be off.
They go further to suggest the door is now open for other clubs as they prepare to extend their options.

I would like to see us bring in a replacement before he departs, but apart from that to be honest I just want this dealt with one way or another.
I have become bored by the demands and the threat hanging over us, good player and I would prefer him to stay, but if he doesn't want to be here good riddance.

Get rid of him.
Cisse can do his job anyway.
If I was Alan partridge, I'd have been playing BA on the right and Cisse in the middle as soon as he refused to sign a new contract.
That way, he wouldn't have been getting as many goals and interest in him would have cooled.
Or he could have done a hamburg and gone on strike and we could have fined him wages upon wages.
We've been too soft with this mercenary.

That's a bit harsh Ronaldo. He's done well for us not just with the goals he's scored but his general play as well.
He's no different than most players trying to get the best deal he can.
I'll be sorry if he goes but would wish him well for the future.

Just heard through a well connected source that of the 7.5m transfer fee, 2.5m was going to Ba (we already knew this) but the 2.5m was to be shared equally between Ba and his representatives, 4 in total it has however emerged during the talks with Chelsea that another 2 people (assumed to be more family members) have a right to a share of the money, therefore Ba's representatives are now asking for increased agent fees/ signing on fee to cover this!
The reported wage was 90k per week but with bonuses etc it could be nearer 150k per week and they also wanted a low minimum release fee clause in his contract like he has with us!
If he doesn't move on in January i think he could do with finding himself new agents!

Apparently he has the same agent group as Hazard who also did a similar thing when touting him to Chelsea.

Sooner he goes the better, sick of him threatening to go every time someone offers him a few more pence than we pay him.
