Breaking News: Chelsea Resume Ba Talks

Reports coming from London suggest that Chelsea have resumed talks with Demba Ba’s representatives ahead of tonight’s game against Everton. Earlier this week Alan Pardew said that Ba would be playing tonight and that he felt sorry for the striker whose ‘agents’ appeared to be running the show. At the time the alleged Chelsea deal had just fallen through with said representatives making demands on the club.

In the last half an hour things seem to have changed and it appears that talks have restarted. The news comes after Demba Ba was quoted in the tabloids saying that he feels detached from money and happily passes it on to those who need it.

He told The Sun;

"Something which is easy for me to give is money - I feel detached from it. I look after myself and my family but I won't forget people who struggle. My father lives in Senegal. They are from the smaller villages and know how to distribute money to people who need it.”

Manager Alan Pardew has made it clear that Newcastle also have a deal on the table for Ba, but that he needs to make a decision and quickly.

“In some respects, I feel a little bit sorry for Demba, because I think people who are representing him aren’t actually representing him.

There are people out there who are saying this who aren’t actually involved or want to be involved, and that’s the sort of world we are in.

The contract is what it is – we’re all aware of that – and for me as the manager I need it resolved as quickly as possible.

That’s the best situation for our fans and for the club.

The situation with that is that it’s getting close to the point where we say ‘no more’ – but the offer is still there.”

He also said;

"I think Demba's becoming a victim of a few sharks around him.

I can't remember a situation like this, with  this level of speculation and information being put about. That's a frustration  for us as a club, massively. Demba is as mentally strong a player as I  have come across. He's had to cope with injury earlier in his  career and disappointments with the way some clubs have treated him. He can't be  disappointed with the way we've treated him so I hope he rewards us by staying  with us for the next couple of years.

It's difficult for our fans to feel Demba is  solid with the team, amid everything else that's going on. When he's played he's  never represented that, he's always represented his full commitment to the team.  But having said that our fans want loyalty. This is a big club and I think  perhaps he needs to make a statement at some point."
