Arrogant San Lorenzo Confirm They Want Colo On A Free

San Lorenzo have increased the pressure on Fabricio Coloccini by demanding an answer from Newcastle United as to whether or not they will allow him to leave, but also insist that they cannot afford to buy him. Therefore the Argentine side are hopeful that Newcastle will hand Coloccini over for free and allow him to just walk away from his contract. Their arrogance is quite something.
After weeks of "interviews" and publicity surrounding San Lorenzo and Coloccini, club president Matias Lammens said;
"San Lorenzo can’t pay a fee for Coloccini. We don’t want to build up fans hope, we are dependent on Fabricio’s persistence to leave the club.
San Lorenzo’s position didn’t change. We will see the contract we can make for him, according to club’s economy. We would love having Fabricio amongst us but his exit from Newcastle won’t be easy.
Putting myself in Newcastle’s place, it will be difficult to let Fabricio Coloccini leave.
San Lorenzo will wait for him until the end of this week. If he can’t solve this situation, we will go for another player so that he can join in with time before the Torneo Final stars.
Mauro Cetto is priority for Juan Antonio Pizzi [manager] and the player said he would like to come."
Seperate quotes on the same subject made by Lammens have been published today where he states;
"We were always very clear and we said that it depends on the player.
We are going to offer him a good contract, he wants to come and I have hope that it can be done. We understand the people of Newcastle, it is hard to let a player like him leave.
But Coloccini has to end his contract. We depend on the feelings of the player and on what he can negotiate in England. We can't buy his transfer in any way. He has been chosen as the best defender of the Premier League, he is an elite player.
San Lorenzo can only point to Coloccini's feelings and not to his pocket. He has personal problems and wants to return to Argentina. We can only offer him a good contract.
He [Coloccini] would be an emblem, we will wait until the end of this week - Sunday or Monday. But we do have a plan ban, and the preference of the coach is Mauro Cetto."
Captain Coloccini has been suspiciously quiet about the whole thing, but manager Alan Pardew confirmed that talks will be held. However, these talks seem to be being held after the deadline set by San Lorenzo. Pardew said;
“We’re going to sit down next week and iron out the issue. As manager, I hope that Colo stays.
In the meantime, Coloccini will lead Newcastle out against Reading at St James’s Park on Saturday. There’s obviously a problem there in his life.
The best way to deal with it at times is be on the football pitch and play your best football, and he certainly did that last week.”

If Colo continues ( if we believe the press) to ask to be released from his contract then someone has to pay ?! He cannot just walk away without the club being compensated either Colo himself or this Mickey Mouse club led by his Gobby father must pay ?!

Life isn't that straight forward Danii - if you sign a contract and break it in most places there are consequences. In this case financial.
Seems San lorenzo don't grasp that concept.
You could we buy Lorenzo FC for about 4m ourselfves and withdraw the friggin offer.

I do not believe you have personal problems it's just your dad forcing your hand to move, if you WANT to go I personally don't want you in our team, If you want to stay I will support you as usual but you need to understand people have paid a lot of money to come and see you at NUFC and you will not be leaving for free whilst I have a hole in my ass.
I know the board are stupid but to let you go for free they would have to be insane
My view is that which someone else said - if he has personal issues, he should play the next couple of games (Reading and Villa) at the very least before being offered compassionate leave - as those two are key games in the next 5 weeks.
A formal complaint should be made to FIFA without drawing the media in (A media ****storm would add an unnecessary distraction for the players).
My hope would be two wins in the next two games, during this and Colo's compassionate leave the staff can finalise that extra centre back (or two) they've been "trying" to bring in the last three windows and help bed him in.
Colo comes back settled and happy that the club allowed him to take care of family matters, clubs image is boosted in terms of treatment of players.
Squad builds on the results of the Reading and Villa results and spring away from the relegation zone.
Unfortunately the likely version of events will be two losses, an unsettled Colo goes on leave, Lorenzo discuss contract details with him while on leave. On his return he buys his contract out, Newcastle fail to sign a new centreback and the squad crumbles.
Newcastle United FC's PR Manager is going to have to earn his money on this...
Apparently they are prepared to pay £4m via a 3rd party funding him.
