Toulouse have confirmed that Newcastle United have signed Moussa Sissoko, a transfer which takes effect today. The 23 year old had been suspended by Toulouse, who were adamant that he would not leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. Newcastle are yet to confirm the signing of the midfielder from the Ligue 1 side.
Toulouse released the following statement on their website;
"Moussa Sissoko will not go to the end of his contract.
He found an agreement with Newcastle United for a definitive transfer which takes effect today."
Earlier today Sissoko was quoted saying he wanted the move to happen he said;
“This is a club that attracts me. I have confidence in his group over what they did last season.
In addition, their leaders have invested in quality French players.
They will rise in the second half of the season.
.Having all these French players is reassuring.
I know them well and it will facilitate my integration."
