Super Signing Sissoko Leads NUFC To 3-2 Win Against Chelsea

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko scored twice today to put Newcastle ahead of Chelsea as the final whistle went. Jonas Gutierrez opened the scoring in the 40th minute just before Chelsea striker Demba Ba was kicked in the face by Fabricio Coloccini requiring medical attention. Ba, who sustained a broken nose, left the field for treatment with blood pouring onto the pitch, before being substituted off and replaced by Fernando Torres in the 42nd minute.

Newcastle went in at half time 1-0 up but Chelsea came out early from the interval and seemed to have been given a half time talking to by manager Rafa Benitez.

Frank Lampard equalised for Chelsea in the 52nd minute, scoring his 10th goal this season and becoming the only player in the Premier League to score in double figures for ten consecutive years, leaving Chelsea fans questioning the clubs decision not to extend his contract.

Juan Mata made it two for Chelsea in the 60th minute, with an assist by Torres, but rather than celebrating the goal Ashley Cole was busy arguing with Papiss Cisse at the other end of the pitch, resulting in both players picking up a yellow card.

Yoan Gouffran provided Moussa Sissoko with the ball in the 67th minute, for his first goal at St James' Park, both players linking up well on their home debut. St James' Park erupted as fans celebrated the equaliser.

Gouffran was rewarded with a round of applause from the crowd, when he was substituted in the 83rd minute and replaced by Sylvain Marveaux who had missed out in midweek through injury.

Minutes later Davide Santon set Sissoko up for his 2nd goal, and Newcastle's 3rd of the game in the 90th minute, which turned out to be the winning goal. If he thought the crowd was good at Villa Park in midweek he must have been overwhelmed by the crowds response when he was taken off in the 91st minute, a touching gesture by Alan Pardew which allowed the crowd to show their appreciation to their match winner.

Howard Webb added an additional 4 minutes onto the game but it wasn't enough for Chelsea to comeback which means the final result was 3-2 and Newcastle have taken 6 points in the last 5 days from their last 2 Premier League games.
