Newcastle United host Southampton tomorrow in a 1.30pm kick-off. Newcastle go into the game on the back of two consecutive Europa League games, having won three, drawn one and lost two of their last six games in all competitions. Southampton travel on the back of two wins, three draws and a defeat from their last six.
Newcastle who won 1-0 on Thursday night will be without goal-keeper Tim Krul after he sustained an ankle injury, potentially keeping him out for up to five weeks. Krul who has been crucial to the clubs season so far, pulling off save after save in every game, will be replaced by Rob Elliot who will make his Premier League debut.
Cheik Tiote (illness) is expected to start, as will Mathieu Debuchy who was ineligible in the Europa League. Yoan Gouffran who picked up a leg injury against Tottenham in their last Premier League game is also fit.
Both Danny Simpson (toe) and Dan Gosling (knee) were back in midweek but neither are expected to feature, Simpson may make the bench.
Davide Santon is back in training having recovered from an ankle injury. Yohan Cabaye (knee) is expected to start whilst Hatem Ben Arfa is facing a late fitness test.
Southampton have had two weeks off and will be fresh on the back of a 3-1 win against Manchester City on their last outing, before the break they had five injured players, however Daniel Fox (ankle), Luke Shaw (ankle) and Gaston Ramirez (hip/thigh) are all expected to return from their respective injuries. Guly do Prado (knee) is a doubt and Jose Fonte (knee) remains absent.
The sides go into the game, only separated in the Premier League table by goal difference, but Papiss Cisse will be desperate for a goal after so many chances in his last two games, whilst Ricky Lambert is just 1 goal away from 100 for his club.
Fact: This is the 87th game between the two sides. Newcastle have won 35, Southampton have won 33.

Won't be easy but I think this is a must win game. I hope Pardew plays Shola up front with Cisse again. Shola is good at holding up the ball and he will be another target for the team to aim at.
Good luck to Rob Elliot on his first Premiership start.
I can't see this match in the tv listings so hopefully there's a good stream out there.
I think it will be a tough game but I do think we will win this and cmplete a good week results wise for the club.
Shame about Krul is Cabaye fit he limped off aswell on Thursday.
Let's hope for three points from this one. I predict 3-1 come on you mighty mags!

Big game - going to be very hard Southampton have been good this season. Ive gone down to St Marys a couple of times and they play for 90 minutes for the win. Win lose or draw.
You're right Carys it was a great goal especially with his form of late.
Good performance by Newcastle, pressing forward all the time.
I hope Pardew continues to play that way, we never do well protecting a lead.
Coloccini hurts his back when he got into trouble by not passing the ball sooner. He landed hard on his back when he used bicycle kick. You could see immediately he'd hurt himse'f.
