Leg Breaking Tackle On Haidara - Ref Doesn't See It?

Wigan Athletic appear to be playing a dirty game this afternoon with their players making disgraceful challenges and forcing substitutions.  Alan Pardew was forced to make an early substitution when Mathieu Debuchy picked up a leg injury only to be replaced by Massadio Haidara in the 15th minute.  Just 6 minutes later Haidara himself was left in agony after a disgraceful challenge by Callum McManaman. While Haidara sought treatment and was then stretchered off, the Newcastle players repeatedly showed their disgust as referee Mark Halsey failed to even book the striker. 

James Perch became Pardews’ second substitution in 10 minutes. A free kick pursued and was dealt with comfortably by Wigan.

The FA will surely have to respond to calls that McManaman should have received a straight red for his assault on Haidara, as if Mark Halsey deems it a fair challenge in his report then questions will need to be raised as to the standard of officiating.

UPDATE: Haidara, having left the pitch is unable to straighten his leg or receive treatment at this time due to the amount of distress he is in.

It doesn’t look promising for the 20 year old. He will be very lucky if it hasn’t led to a broken leg as it certainly could have done.
