Carver Sent Off After Being Restrained In Touchline Bust Up

John Carver has had to be held back by defender James Perch and 11 others after lashing out as the players and officials headed down the tunnel for half time. The melee which occurred as the officials passed the Newcastle coach was related to the early incident where Massadio Haidara was stretchered off after a horror tackle by Wigan forward Callum McManaman who wasn’t even booked for his assault on the 20 year old

The situation wasn’t helped by a Wigan coach Graham Barrow who pushed Carver as he appeared to try and confront McManaman.

McManaman himself looked deeply upset as he left the pitch, holding his head down and refusing to make eye contact with anybody as he passed by.

John Carver and Graham Barrow have both been sent off.
