Match Preview/Stats/Thread: Newcastle Utd v Fulham FC

Newcastle United travel to Fulham tomorrow afternoon after back to back defeats in the Premier League and Europa League. Newcastle have lost three, won two and drawn one from their last six games, whilst Fulham host on the back of three wins, two draws and one defeat from their last six.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has an ever growing injury list to contend with, with doubts over Mathieu Debuchy (hamstring) and Cheik Tiote (hamstring). Fabricio Coloccini (back), Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring), James Perch (knock) and Massadio Haidara (knee) are all also unavailable.
Tim Krul returned for the midweek game against Benfica and is expected to retain his place against Fulham, whilst Danny Simpson (ankle) should also be fit.
Fulham will miss Steve Sidwell who begins a three match ban as well as Ashkan Dejagah (ankle), Mladen Petriae (groin) but other than that they have a relatively complete team.
Manager Martin Jol has propelled the side to the top half of the table and the club are on a good run of form at the moment. Newcastle on the other hand are in facing a relegation battle with Pardew admitting that 40 points are required to secure their safety.
Pardew said ahead of the game;
"So we are missing four or five really big players, which we have done all year if I’m honest, with the injuries we have had one way or another.
But I still think we have a good side to put on the pitch tomorrow."
Asked if this had left them short he added;
“I think that is fair to say but at this stage of the season and the positions we are in, in both competitions, we need to play our best team and I’ll play my best team on Sunday regardless of resting anybody.”
Fact: Newcastle have W1 D1 and L5 of their last 7 games against Fulham.
Fact: Newcastle have 20 points less than they did at this stage last season.
Fact: If Fulham win against Newcastle it will be the first time this season that they have won three consecutive Premier League games.

We are playing almost the same team we used against Benfica so let's hope we play this match as well as we played the first 20 minutes on Thursday. Perch out for Gouffran.
Cisse has tendency to get isolated when he plays up front on his own, so it's good to see Gouffran playing along side him.
We have hit the woodwork 6 times in the last 3 games! AND we should have had a penatly as handball in the box whilst the woodwork was getting a workout
Get in, didn't matter how it came today as long as we won roll on next week, hopefully we might have a few players back, good job we bought in January. I heard rumours today that Toulouse defender Cheickh M'Bengue was in the stadium today, apparently he plays left back or centre half.
Just a shame they didn't spend in the summer when we could all see that it was needed ! Could of been such a different season for us but that's gone now .
And was good to see Taylor and krul celebrating like they'd won a cup long after the final whistle pards an cisse will get the headlines for theirs but its nice to know the players we have love the club
