Post Match Interview: Pardew Acknowledges Response To Defeat

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew gave his post-match interview after Newcastles 6-0 defeat against Liverpool and this time there was no justifying the performance. Pardew acknowledged that the team were poor, he acknowledged that the club were walked all over and he acknowledged that there would be a lot of criticism directed towards them. He said;
“Well unfortunately today we got a bad start to the game and we never got going it was an awful performance from us.
As far as I am concerned on the side-lines we need to do something about that for next week.
Most important message is that we have to stick together now as a group and we have to get ourselves disciplined and organised for next week because we got run ragged today.”
When asked about whether the side had enough Premier League experience he said;
“A little bit I thought that was evident today but we have got enough experience the group to get over that. Luckily for us we got three games to go to put it right and we are going to have to get a win or four points at least to make sure that we are safe.”
On substitutions he added;
“Well it was probably a crucial moment when we started to have our best spell and we lose the ball on the half way line and they go and score. From that point on we definitely looked like we lost a bit of heart and a bit of togetherness and you are going to pay a heavy penalty which we have.”
Asked whether Liverpool were performing for Suarez he said;
“Well they was definitely very good they had great energy on the pitch and when they got through they had numbers and was going at us with real energy. That is no excuse for our performance though, we should have been a lot better than that and defensively today we were poor, very, very poor and we will have to make changes there to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
Pardew went on to conclude that Debuchy made a rash decision and was off as a result. His message to the fans was;
“We have got to come out fighting.”

It's funny as I read an article today by chris kamara talking about Mancini at city and how you don't judge a manager on their success of the season before but how they move forward and progress in the following season after - in pardews case it's a failure beyond belief as he has no excuses now he has the players signed in jan , no more Europa making them tired and injuries aren't as bad as they were earlier In The year an they still look like they had never met before the match let alone trained together
