Newcastle United travel to London this weekend, specifically to Upton Park where West Ham will be playing to maintain their top ten place at the end of the season. Newcastle go into the game on the back of a humiliating 6-0 defeat against Liverpool, whilst West Ham were defeated by Manchester City last weekend. From their last six games in all competitions Newcastle have won one, drawn two and lost three, whilst West Ham have lost one, drawn three and won two.
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that the side need at least 4 points from their final three games against West Ham, QPR and Arsenal. The team might be 5 points clear of the drop zone but that isn’t enough when Wigan Athletic (in 18th) have a game in hand and Newcastle's performances have been so bad of late. That said, mathematically, and if other results are favourable, Newcastle could jump up to 12th with a win. That’s how close it is.
Newcastle have conceded the most goals in the Premier League this season and Pardew knows that he needs his players to start scoring goals and stop conceding.
Newcastle go into the game without Sylvain Marveaux (groin), Davide Santon (hamstring), Tim Krul (shoulder) and Ryan Taylor (ACL). Added to the injury list is Massadio Haidara (hamstring) and Moussa Sissoko (ankle).
Fabricio Coloccini is back in training and Pardew seems to be relying heavily on the Captain to make an instant impact and keep them up. However, Mathieu Debuchy didn’t help the cause last weekend after being sent off for 2 yellow cards. Cheik Tiote was also walking a tight line against Liverpool and is a concern going into the final three games.
Sam Allardyce only has a few injuries to contend with. Both James Tomkins (calf) and George McCartney (knee) are unavailable, but Joe Cole and Mark Noble are both fit. Former Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is expected to be the main man. He has recently found form again, hitting the back of the net and has also said that he will be playing to win this afternoon. His recent performances have seen him linked with a recall to the England squad.
Carroll knows exactly how to play against Newcastle and the side will need to put in a much more confident performance if he isn’t to punish them.
Fact: Newcastle’s most recent win at Upton Park was a 2-0 victory in October 2010 – Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan (both now West Ham players) scored the goals.
Fact: Both managers are also facing former clubs who sacked them.
Fact: Newcastle currently have their 2nd worst away record in the Premier League.

The goal in dispute was Cisse's he kicked the balllike a toddler.
I have never seen a ball roll more slowly towards the goal. Judge for yourselves I'm sure it will be shown a lot of times on various media.
Rob Elliot made up for his erratic behaviour in the first half with some good saves in the second , and performance was much improved from last few weeks but tiote's passing is still shocking at times and apart from cisse' ghost goal we never really looked like scoring . Cisse just looks isolated in the box on his own !
So although its an slight improvement I fear it's too little too late with other results going against us it's gonna be very nervy finish
We must win at qpr but have the players got what it takes to overcome the pressure and has pardew got the tactical know how ?
A draw is what I expected Wigan get out of trouble by playing decent football we on the other hand do not.We now need Stoke and Swansea to win against Mackems and Wigan.If they both win meaning Mackems and Wigan we will be in the bottom 3. Oh what a mess!
We are on points with Norwich and they face WBA and Man City for their last two games. That being said, we can't count on other teams and next week's game is a must win.
Our last games against arsenal, don't hold much hope of that doing our goal difference much good ! We need a big win vs qpr but with our attack can't see it happening
We played some good football particularly in the first half but as always cisse is too isolated up front!
against QPR i'd like to see gouffran or ameobi start alongside cisse with 2 up front and HBA playing just behind them!
QPR match so far is still the sunday but i've seen a lot of people saying its to be moved to the monday if there's still a chance we can get relegated, so monday it is then!
I was a bit dubious about Mbiwa playing at lb but he had a good game.
