Are Newcastle Relying On A Coloccini Miracle?

Earlier this week Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was forced to deny that Fabricio Coloccini is finished at the club and then fielded him against West Ham Saturday afternoon to prove that the Argentine was fit and fully committed. Recent comments from the camp seem to show a heavy reliance on the club’s captain with Pardew praising his importance and leadership, followed by Cheik Tiote, admitting he is happy to have his captain back because he provides much needed experience on the pitch.
Pardew said earlier this week;
“Colo is important this week. That’s no disrespect to the two centre-halves who played against Liverpool. His leadership is important. Hopefully, we can get him out on the pitch.”
Whilst after the draw at Upton Park Tiote also discussed Coloccini’s influence. He said;
"I think it helped us because we know Coloccini's a good player with a lot of experience. He played well and I'm happy to see him back because we're going to need him for the next two games.
I think we deserved more than the one point because, when you see the game, I felt we wanted it more than West Ham.
We missed some chances and we didn't score the goal we needed but we need to take the positives and think about the next game.
We need to win. Before the [West Ham] game we knew we had to win or take one point, but we could not lose. We have one point and that's important.
Everyone was together and we played as a team. We were more compact and that's important. On Sunday we've got to do the same and hopefully we can take the three points."
Relying on Coloccini for the last two games of the season is all very well, and whilst opportunities were missed yesterday, there did appear to be some sort of team spirit which has been missing of late. But what happens next? Pardew can’t be relying on Colo to keep the side up singlehandedly, yet the implication is that he needs to work a miracle on behalf of a club he may not be at in 3 weeks time.

Why not rely on Coloccini to continue to do that?
Let's face it some of the less discerning Newcastle fans seem to rely on the fickle Hatem Ben Arfa only being on the pitch for Newcastle to win. Maybe they sleep through the games and don't actually watch his performances.
I'm delighted to have Colo back and yes I'll rely on him to steady the ship.

My point was that I would rather rely on Colo than Ben Arfa.

But more often than not we see a midfield player lose the ball and then stand back and watch instead of chasing back (Ben Arfa and obertan are the biggest culprits for this) lets just pray that Wigan fail to win at Swansea and we get a big win at qpr although with only 1 away win all season this seems a long shot
