Kinnear Does Making A Fool Of Mike Ashley So Well!

As we have all heard by now, Joe Kinnear gave an interesting interview to TalkSport last night, provoking the fans further by claiming he hadn’t danced to the “tune of the Geordie media” on his last stint at the club and that he had more intelligence that the fans. True to form he then went on to call Yohan Cabaye, Yohan Kebab, before claiming he can open the door to any manager in the world, and that that’s the difference between him and Derek Llambias.
The bizarre interview is Kinnear’s second (possibly third?) in three days which has raised the hackles and led to people questioning why Mike Ashley would have rehired the bumbling 66 year old, in any capacity, which sees him firstly having any responsibility over the team but secondly being a public face for the club.
The following seven points of the interview should be enough for Mike Ashley to put Kinnear in a back office and close the door, removing any form of communication with the media.
- Initially he said he had been speaking to Mike Ashley for 3 weeks since Llambias resigned – then claimed this was 10 days ago (10 days make 3 weeks????).
- He has never been sacked – but he was dismissed from Luton Town and Nottingham Forest.
- Derek Llambias is called Lambeezee and has resigned from a position he never held.
- Signed Tim Krul – except Krul was at the club from 2005 – well before Kinnear was appointed.
- Changed from being in charge of transfers and having the final say as claimed in previous interview - to having joint responsibility with Pardew.
- Made a bold statement in identifying that Newcastle needs a striker – who would have guessed?
- Claimed he had more intelligence that the Newcastle United fans. (He really knows how to do publicity).
Newcastle United are yet to make ANY comment on the Kinnear debacle OR even confirmed his appointment, but have apparently denied that Derek Llambias has resigned from any position that he held that the club. Llambias has been Managing Director of the club since 2008 when he took over from Chris Mort. He has not been Director of Football and Kinnear has not taken his job.
It has been reported that the club are expected to make a statement later this morning.
The interview with Andy Golding and Bobby Gould, during which Bobby was very specific in the questions he asked, aired late last night can be heard in full at TalkSport.co.uk
