Shearer: "Where Do We Start?" You're Telling Us Alan!
By Tyne-Talk June 20 2013
Just hours after former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer spoke out in The Sun about the appointment of Joe Kinnear and Alan Pardew’s position, fans watched outside Shearer’s bar as the famous sign was removed to be rebranded as “Nine”. On the topic of poor situations, the appointment of Kinnear and the resignation of Derek Llambias Shearer said it sickened him to see the club as a laughing stock.
He told The Sun;
"Where do we start? What I do know is that right now people are laughing at the football club I support. And that sickens me.
I promised myself years ago never to be surprised by what happens in football - particularly when it comes to Newcastle. But this situation really is stretching it a bit.
While other clubs are all plotting and planning for next season, Newcastle have a manager who has just been totally undermined.
Alan Pardew has said he will carry on but I am sure it will be a difficult situation. As for that announcement, what are the players to think when he can't even get their names right? It's all a PR disaster.
His silence on the appointment of Kinnear himself over recent days said it all, But what could he say?
He is in such an intolerable position. He can't come out and slaughter his employers but at the same time he can't agree with a situation which no manager would find comfortable."

to be honest I was midly @#$%& off by the removal of shearers name, but as (and I speak as a bit of an expert on pubs in general) its a @#$%& bar and I'm reasonably sure he didn't give a toss anyway its probably ok.
Shearer will remian for me our best ever player, what they call the @#$%& bar at the bottom is a matter of supreme indifference to me. Any one not from here can I recomemnd rosies bar instaed. anyone actually from here will already know it.
I didn't hear Shearer whoop for joy when we finished 5th in Prem. Let's face it, he just wants things to be back the way they were, with Shepherd running the club, and letting Shearer get his way with everything.
your hatred of shearer actually mystifies me. I mean you claim to be a fan of the club. But to be honest I can't remember you actually posting anything on football, yet you take an orgasmic pleasure in anything business related.
I spent the first few months honestly believing that you were a character invented by Carys to stimulate debate, but I am slowly coming round to the view that you actually believe what you type.

Funny you should say that dave, I believed you'd invented him for the same reason.
Can i just make it clear to anyone reading this that i am not saying that i have ever been involved in the purchasing or consumption of this substance and i am in no way condoning or promoting the use of it!
Nick-Kielce-Poland Ashley appointed Graham Carr.
As long as he makes genius appointments like that, I'm happy for him to make ridiculous appointments like Kinnear.

......and when Carr goes and Kinnear is still here?

If that happens, then I'll be disappointed, but I won't be a drama queen about it. I'll hope we can go out and get good results.
But as it is, Ashley has only himself to blame for the criticism he is getting from the fans. He must have known how people would react. It's just that I personally won't criticise Ashley for the simple reason that I don't think appointing Kinnear undoes all the good that I think he's done in these last 6 years, certainly compared to Shepherd.
But when I hear people who aren't even Toon fans harp on about the appointment of Kinnear, when they wouldn't even congratulate us on our wonderful recovery from relegation to 5th place, then I just think they want us to fail.
If clubs get a whiff of Carr leaving they'll be lining up to sign him, if they get a whiff of Kinnear leaving they'll be disappointed that they haven't got him to laugh at anymore.
We couldn't replace Carr we can easily replace Kinnear and Asley needs to take that into consideration.
