Confirmed: Toon Face Rangers In Pre-Season Friendly

Newcastle United have today confirmed a pre-season friendly against Glasgow Rangers. The game will take place on Tuesday 6th August at 7.45pm and will be held at the Ibrox Stadium. Whilst the announcement is not unexpected, it will see both sides which Mike Ashley has an interest in go head to head and will be Newcastle's 6th of 7 friendlies taking place in the pre-season.
Adult tickets will be on sale for £15, childrens for £5 and OAP's for £10.
Alan Pardew's side beat Motherwell 4-2 on Saturday evening and are currently in Portugal for two games before heading back to the UK to face Blackpool, St Mirren, Rangers and SC Braga.

Let`s get a couple of points straight lads,
1. The geordies will be playing against rangers international FC - Glasgow rangers went bust over a Year ago !
2. Mike Ashley has more than just an "interest" in both clubs, He is a shareholder & owns advertising rights for both.
3. The main purpose of this game is to facilitate the naming rights of the stadium - You may walk into "ibrox" But You will definitely exit the "Sports Direct" stadium - A 1 year old team that is losing £1 Million per Month has no other choice than to accept all of Mike Ashley`s conditions.

Your post implies there is a problem with the game?
A friendly is a friendly - doesn't matter who its against. It's obvious is for financial purposes but I don't see that as being a problem? Surely that's what most games are about nowadays.

there's nothing wrong with this its how business works, Ashley is promoting his brands, just like we are having a friendly with Blackpool which i'm sure Wonga wanted.
