Shola's 4 goals in 4 games!

Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has saved the day yet again after scoring his 4th goal in his last 4 pre-season friendlies for the club. Newcastle travelled to the Ibrox this evening and went 1-0 down to a Rangers penalty in the 6th minute of the game. Despite chances up until half time, the second half was much quieter (judging by the lack of updates compared to the first half) with very little in the way of opportunity…until Shola replaced Papiss Cisse in the 73rd minute.
Sammy Ameobi, who replaced Jonas Gutierrez in 81st minute got the assist as Shola put the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net in the 90th.
Shola has also been the only goal scorer for Newcastle United in each of the games he has scored in. Cisse and Debuchy both scored against St Mirren last Tuesday when Shola was sidelined with a dead leg.
Newcastle have now won three, drawn two and lost just one of their pre-season friendlies ahead of their final game against SC Braga on Saturday evening.
