Shola Starts For Nigeria

Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has made his first start for Nigeria this evening against South Africa after flying out on Monday to join the squad. The 31 year old who committed himself to the Nigerian International team and made his debut in a friendly last November against Venezuela said ahead of the Nelson Mandela Challenge;
“I am so happy to be back with these set of players who always show me love and care and I promise from now on to always give my best to the team."
Shola has publically said that this season is important for him professionally and should Newcastle bring in more strikers then he would consider looking elsewhere for first team football.
The score is 0-0 at half time.
